I've Spent Over 25 Years Understanding Anxiety, Trauma, Depression, and other Mental Health Diagnoses--So You Don't Have to Manage Alone

A holistic, evidence-based approach to quieting the anxious mind and reclaiming your life

I am a licensed clinical social worker and board-certified supervisor with over 25 years of experience providing therapy services to children, teens, and adults. I have spent much of that time working at the world-renowned Kennedy Krieger Institute, a Johns Hopkins affiliate, where I was also in leadership. I've completed internships at Sheppard Pratt, a foremost expert in the mental health field, as well as the University of Maryland's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I've worked with individuals who have housing insecurity/homelessness through Catholic Charities, and have supervised Masters Level interns and Post-Graduate level social workers. (Feel free to click on the LinkedIn link to read more about my experience).

Over the years, I've had clients with many different diagnoses, including: Depression, Adjustment Disorders, Anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, OCD, Trauma, chronic pain, and more. I have training in Cognitive Behavioral, Attachment/parent-child relationships, PTSD/Complex Trauma (IFS, TF-CBT, Somatic, EMDR), Mindfulness, Play therapy, Dialectical Behavioral, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and more.

I view clients through a holistic lens, using a strengths-based, systems-approach, and have Post Graduate Certifications in Treating Children & Adolescents, Fitness Nutrition Specialist, Advanced Nutrition & Integrative Medicine for Mental Health Providers, Somatic Trauma Therapy, Circle of Security (attachment-based), Fussy Baby (attachment-based), and Leadership. A former Division 1 lacrosse player with a passion for exercise and fitness, I use this knowledge to help my clients improve both mental and physical wellness because it's all connected!

I have three grown sons and now that I'm no longer at my children's games or volunteering at their school or on the field, I am able to focus more on my passions, including consulting, supervising, volunteering, and program development. When I'm not working, I love watching Marvel movies, hiking, lifting weights, reading, and crowd surfing at concerts. I believe we should never stop playing like children!

Calm Your Nervous System From the Outside In

Anxiety lives in your body as much as your mind. I combine fitness, nutrition, and somatic strategies to regulate your nervous system naturally. Whether it's the cortisol-crushing power of exercise, anti-inflammatory nutrition, or daily mindfulness rituals — we build a lifestyle that makes anxiety harder to sustain. I also offer specialized dating coaching to help you build confidence, set healthy boundaries, and navigate relationships from a place of secure self-worth.

Starting Therapy

I know reaching out can feel overwhelming (hello, anxiety). Here's everything you need to take the first step.

Ready to start?
Please contact me to schedule an appointment. I have flexible day, evening, and weekend availability, from the convenience of your home or work via telehealth. I am currently licensed in the states of Maryland and Colorado to provide mental health services. You can also visit my Headway Therapy page (Maryland and Colorado).
Yes, hopefully! I am credentialed with some insurance companies through Headway (Maryland and Colorado). If I'm not in-network with your insurance company, fees are collected at the time of service via Zelle, Venmo, or a credit card. I provide a monthly invoice to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, and can assist with this process as well.
Services are tailored to you, your child, family, or organization. Some clients may only want or need a few sessions, while others may choose to meet for longer. Most people report progress toward goals within a few sessions. I combine my extensive knowledge in health, mental health, and holistic practices, using research-based interventions and strategies to achieve outcomes.
Throughout my career, I have worked with clients of all ages and diagnoses. I have training in a variety of interventions, including Dialectical Behavioral, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral, Emotional Freedom (tapping), Acceptance and Commitment, Polyvagal-based, Internal Family Systems, and others, all based on the latest research. At this point in time, I am focusing my practice more on children ages 10 and up, teens, and adults, specializing in treating anxiety, trauma, and low self-worth/self-esteem.
I generally prefer to meet with caregiver/s prior to seeing the child/teen. I can either see caregiver/s at the beginning of the session, and then the child/teen, or we can schedule a separate appointment for your child/teen — whatever you think will be less anxiety-provoking for your child/teen.

Helping Your Child Manage Anxiety

Our brains are wired to keep us safe and to worry! The first thing to say is, this is your brain doing its job. Sometimes our brains get hiccups and tell us to worry when we are safe. Get moving — the best thing to do when the amygdala tells you something is wrong.
